Woman Reports Finding Pill in Muffin

17-Aug-2010
Durham Regional Police

Durham Regional Police are investigating after an Oshawa woman reported discovering a pill hidden inside a muffin she purchased at her local grocery store.

On Saturday, August 14th at approximately 10 a.m., a 40-year-old Oshawa woman reports she was eating a muffin she purchased the previous day when she discovered a pill hidden inside. She called police who attended and seized the muffins and the pill so they could be tested. The female did not ingest the pill or become ill and no other pills were found in the other muffins.

She purchased the package of six banana muffins from the No Frills outlet at 1050 Simcoe Street North in Oshawa on Friday, August 13th, 2010. They came in a sealed plastic container. The DRPS is now working with the store to determine how the pill may have found its way into the muffin.
