HEALTH HAZARD ALERT - TAMPERING ASSOCIATED WITH CERTAIN FOOD PRODUCTS AT CALGARY CO-OP OAKRIDGE CENTRE

OTTAWA, January 19, 2010 - The press release issued by Calgary Co-operative
Association Ltd. on January 18, 2010 has been expanded to include additional
products.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Calgary Co-operative Association Ltd.
are warning the public not to consume the following products after tampered items
were found to contain objects such as pins, sewing needles and buttons.

The products affected by this alert are bulk buns and loaves, bulk food items,
packaged cheeses and refrigerated juices (sold in the produce section), purchased
from the Calgary Co-Op Oakridge Centre grocery store at 2580 Southland Drive SW
between Friday, January 15, 2010 and Monday, January 18, 2010.

In addition, the CFIA and Calgary Co-op are encouraging the public to carefully
inspect any products purchased at this store during this time frame. Should there be
any signs of tampering, consumers are advised not to consume the products and to
return them to the store for a full refund.

The CFIA is working with Calgary Co-op, Calgary Police Service and Alberta Health
Services to investigate this tampering incident at the Calgary Co-op Oakridge Centre
grocery store.

Calgary Co-operative Association Ltd., Calgary, AB, is voluntarily recalling the
affected products and is actively participating in the investigation.

DANGER POUR LA SANTÉ - ALTÉRATION DE CERTAINS PRODUITS VENDUS PAR L'ENTREPRISE CALGARY CO-OP AU CENTRE OAKRIDGE

OTTAWA, le 19 janvier 2010 - L'entreprise Calgary Co-operative Association Ltd. a
rajouté des produits à la liste incluse dans le communiqué de presse qu'elle a
publié le 18 janvier 2010.

L'Agence canadienne d'inspection des aliments (ACIA) et Calgary Co-operative
Association Ltd. avisent la population de ne pas consommer les produits suivants,
car des objets, comme des épingles, des aiguilles à coudre et les boutons, ont été
découverts dans certains articles.

Les produits visés par ce rappel sont les petits pains et pains en vrac, les
produits alimentaires en vrac, les fromages emballés et les jus réfrigérés (vendus
dans la section des fruits et légumes) achetés de l'entreprise Calgary Co-op au
centre Oakridge, situé au 2580, Southland Drive SW, entre le vendredi 15 janvier et
le lundi 18 janvier 2010.

De plus, l'ACIA et Calgary Co-op encouragent la population à examiner attentivement
les produits achetés à ce centre pendant les dates indiquées ci-dessus. Si un
produit présente des signes d'altération, les consommateurs sont avisés de ne pas
consommer ce produit et de le retourner au magasin pour obtenir un remboursement
complet.

En collaboration avec Calgary Co-op, le service de police de Calgary et les services
de santé de l'Alberta, l'ACIAA mène une enquête sur cet incident d'altération de
produits à l'épicerie de Calgary Co-op au centre Oakridge.

L'entreprise Calgary Co-operative Association Ltd., située à Calgary (Alberta),
retire volontairement du marché les produits visés et participe activement à
l'enquête.
