BRANTFORD - Royal Submarine on St. Paul Avenue in Brantford, Ontario, was, according to this story, found guilty of storing hazardous foods at improper temperatures and of the restaurant manager failing to get a food handler training certificate.

Program manager Jeff Kowal of the Brant County Health Unit was cited as saying that convictions of food safety violations are publicized to keep the community informed, but such incidents are rare, adding, "In general, we don't have to ticket in this community. The vast majority of food premises are in excellent condition and, even if there's a critical problem, it's addressed in a day or two."

The sub shop was found guilty and fined $375 after improperly handling foods that must be stored at below 5 degrees Celsius or over 60 degrees Celsius.
