Food safety and quality have been identified as key components in meeting the challenges of the ever changing agriculture and the agri-food market both in Canada and internationally. Stakeholders in this sector recognize the importance of food safety and quality and the need to work collaboratively to meet these challenges.
You are cordially invited to attend this one day Symposium which will address why a National Food Safety Strategy is so important. The meeting will bring together experts in food safety representing consumers, industry, government and academia from across Canada, and representing all points along the food chain to present their perspectives and perceived needs. In addition, a select number of international experts in food safety will be invited to attend to provide a global perspective on food safety problems (e.g., trade considerations and
biosecurity).
The goal of the National Food Safety Strategy Symposium is to provide a forum for food safety specialists to meet and share information in order to improve the food safety strategies in each organization and ultimately contribute to the development of a national food safety strategy.
We look forward to your participation in this exciting venture. Please extend this invitation to any interested colleagues.
Seating is limited.
Presentations at the Symposium will be given in English. Documents will be provided in both English and French.
