FLORIDA: Flight to Canada diverted with 8 sick

FORT LAUDERDALE - Air Transat flight 477 departed from the Dominican Republic for Edmonton but was forced to land at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport after eight passengers -- family members who had eaten together -- became ill. All are hospitalized, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention determined that their illness wasn't airborne.
The flight continued its trip to Edmonton, Canada, early Wednesday.
