DINE SAFE TORONTO: 11 restaurants get conditional passes this week



This week, our Dine Safe Toronto list includes 11 conditional passes issued to food establishments by Toronto Public Health for crucial and significant Food Premises Regulation infractions.

One or more such infractions were observed at each noted establishment during inspections between Tuesday, Feb. 11 and Tuesday, Feb. 18.

Food establishments in this report include restaurants, food court vendors and takeout food locations.

BAUZZA BAUZZA, 298 COLLEGE ST.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infractions were observed during an inspection Feb. 14.

• Store potentially hazardous foods at internal temperature between 4 C and 60 C.

• Fail to provide hand-washing stations with adequate supplies (hot and cold water).

• Mechanical equipment not maintained to maintain wash water between 60 C and 71 C.

• Mechanical equipment not maintained to provide sufficient chemical solution rinse.

• Fail to provide thermometer in refrigeration equipment.

• Fail to protect against harbouring of pests.

• Fail to maintain records of pest control measures taken.

CHEF GOURMET, 542 CHURCH ST.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infractions were observed during an inspection Feb. 11.

• Offer for sale potentially hazardous foods at internal temperature between 4 C and 60 C.

• Fail to protect food from contamination or adulteration.

• Fail to provide thermometer in refrigeration equipment.

LG AMATO PIZZA, 770 COLLEGE ST.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infractions were observed during an inspection Feb. 13.

• Fail to maintain hand-washing stations (liquid soap and paper towels).

• Fail to provide thermometer in refrigeration equipment.

• Fail to protect against harbouring of pests.

• Fail to maintain records of pest control measures taken.

MR. JOHN'S REAL KERALA KITCHEN, 1850 ELLESMERE RD.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infractions were observed during an inspection Feb. 10.

• Maintain potentially hazardous foods at internal temperature between 4 C and 60 C.

• Fail to protect food from contamination or adulteration.

• Fail to sanitize multi-service articles after use.

• Fail to equip sanitary facility with single service towels or dryer.

NO SMALL FEAST, 557 DIXON RD.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infractions were observed during an inspection Feb. 12.

• Mechanical equipment not constructed to provide clean wash water.

• Mechanical equipment not maintained to apply rinse water 10 seconds per cycle.

OVER EASY, 208 BLOOR ST. W.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infractions were observed during an inspection Feb. 10.

• Fail to ensure equipment surface cleaned as necessary.

• Fail to protect against breeding of pests.

PANERA BREAD, 1066 DON MILLS RD.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infractions were observed during an inspection Feb. 12.

• Mechanical equipment not maintained to maintain wash water between 60 C and 71 C.

• Mechanical equipment not maintained to provide sufficient chemical solution rinse.

• Fail to protect against breeding of pests.

ROTI PALACE RESTAURANT, 1845 FINCH AVE. W.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infractions were observed during an inspection Feb. 12.

• Maintain potentially hazardous foods at internal temperature between 4 C and 60 C.

• Fail to ensure food handler in food premise washes hands as necessary to prevent contamination of food.

• Fail to protect against harbouring of pests.

SARAVANA, 2761 MARKHAM RD.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infractions were observed during an inspection Feb. 11.

• Fail to provide hand-washing stations with adequate supplies (hot and cold water).

• Fail to maintain hand-washing stations (liquid soap and paper towels).

• Fail to protect against harbouring of pests.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infractions were observed during an inspection Feb. 13.

• Refrigerate potentially hazardous foods at internal temperature above 4 C.

• Fail to ensure equipment surface cleaned as necessary.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infraction was observed during an inspection Feb. 14.
