DINE SAFE TORONTO: 19 restaurants get conditional passes this week



This week, our Dine Safe Toronto list includes 19 conditional passes issued to food establishments by Toronto Public Health for crucial and significant Food Premises Regulation infractions.

One or more such infractions were observed at each noted establishment during inspections between Wednesday, March 4 to Tuesday, March 10.

Food establishments in this report include restaurants, food court vendors and takeout food locations.

CONDITIONAL PASS
ANNIE'S CARIBBEAN EXPRESS, 3449 DUNDAS ST. W.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infractions were observed during an inspection March 5.

• Fail to provide adequate number of hand-washing stations.

• Use equipment not suitable for intended purpose.

• Fail to provide thermometer in refrigeration equipment.

BUBBY'S NEW YORK BAGELS, 970 LAWRENCE AVE. W.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infractions were observed during an inspection March 10.

• Fail to ensure food handler in food premise washes hands as necessary to prevent contamination of food.

• Use hand-washing station other than for hand washing of employees.

• Fail to maintain hand-washing stations (liquid soap and paper towels).

• Sanitize utensils in chlorine solution of less than 100 p.p.m. of available chlorine.

• Fail to remove garbage when necessary to maintain sanitary condition.

CROWN JEWEL FINE DINING, 325 BAMBURGH CIRCLE

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infractions were observed during an inspection March 9.

• Fail to protect food from contamination or adulteration.

• Fail to maintain hand-washing stations (liquid soap and paper towels).

• Mechanical equipment not maintained to maintain rinse water at 82 C.

• Use food equipment not in good repair.

EUROPE BAR AND RESTAURANT, 3030 BATHURST ST.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infraction was observed during an inspection March 9.

• Fail to protect against breeding of pests.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infractions were observed during an inspection March 10.

• Maintain potentially hazardous foods at internal temperature between 4 C and 60 C.

• Handle ice in unsanitary manner.

• Fail to maintain hand-washing stations (liquid soap and paper towels).

• Use food equipment not in good repair.

• Fail to equip sanitary facility with soap or detergent.

GOLDEN WHEAT BAKERY & PASTRY, 652 COLLEGE ST.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infraction was observed during an inspection March 9.

• Mechanical equipment not maintained to provide sufficient chemical solution rinse.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infractions were observed during an inspection March 5.

• Use utensils not of readily cleanable form.

• Hand-washing stations not conveniently accessible by food handlers.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infractions were observed during an inspection March 10.

• Refrigerate potentially hazardous foods at internal temperature above 4 C.

• Use food equipment not in good repair.

• Fail to provide thermometer in refrigeration equipment.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infractions were observed during an inspection March 4.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infractions were observed during an inspection March 4.

• Food premise maintained in manner permitting adverse effect on food.

• Fail to maintain records of pest control measures taken.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infractions were observed during an inspection March 5.

• Use utensils not of sound and tight construction.

• Fail to protect against harbouring of pests.

A conditional pass was issued after the following Food Premises Regulation infractions were observed during an inspection March 9.

• Food premise maintained in manner to permit contamination of single-service articles.

• Fail to remove garbage when necessary to maintain sanitary condition.
