A Scarborough Chinese restaurant ordered closed last week over a
salmonella outbreak could reopen as early as tonight, pending a health
inspection.
Toronto Public Health is planning to inspect the Ruby Chinese
Restaurant, located in the Finch Avenue and McCowan Road area, again
today after it flunked two visits last week prompted by a salmonella
outbreak.
The restaurant was closed after inspectors found a host of culinary
no-nos: dirty utensils; unscrubbed floors and kitchen counters;
cockroaches; and raw meat stored at the wrong temperature.
