15.oct.06
The Calgary Herald
Calgary restaurants faced 48 closure orders in the past year when local health inspectors temporarily shut the eateries' doors for violations ranging from mouse droppings and cockroaches, to food thawing on unfinished concrete floors, the Herald reported Tuesday.
Documents provided to the Herald show the city's 9,000 food establishments were cited for 52,436 infractions of food safety codes in 2005-06, with the most common problem being dirty facilities.
