ONTARIO: Guelph Police investigate food tampering

GUELPH -- The Guelph Police Service and Canadian Food Inspection Agency
are investigating a report that a 2.5-centimetre-long metal object was
discovered in a package of pork sausage that was purchased at No Frills
on Silvercreek Parkway on Oct. 11.
Police report no one was injured by the object and to date; only one
single sausage in a package of sausages is known to have been affected.
Police describe the product as:
Butcher's Choice- honey garlic uncooked pork sausage club pack, product
code #85311 lot# 19 8277, time stamp: 20:15, best before date 13 OCT
2009.

All of the products on the store shelves have been removed and/or
inspected. No other packages were found to have been compromised.
In the matter of public safety, if any consumer has purchased either of
the following products they are asked to inspect the packaging for
evidence of tampering. If tampering is suspected, contact police. At
this time it is unknown if these products were sold in other retail
outlets in Guelph.
