ONTARIO: E. coli outbreak lands restaurateurs in court

The owners of a St. Catharines restaurant will, according to this story, appear in court Nov. 22 to answer charges relating to an E. coli outbreak.
Niagara Region's public health department laid 34 charges under the Health Protection and Promotion Act against Yaman Restaurant's owners on Monday.
The Merritt Street restaurant was at the centre of an E. coli outbreak in May after nine customers became sick. Five of the nine were hospitalized. All have since recovered.
The restaurant reopened in August after complying with public health directives.
Owners Mahmoud Asaad and Senan Daoud each face 17 charges. They were summoned to appear in provincial offences court on Nov. 22.
