HEALTH HAZARD ALERT - GROUND BEEF SOLD BY SUPERSTORE, KELOWNA MAY CONTAIN PIECES OF GLASS

OTTAWA, February 13, 2009 - The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Real
Canadian Superstore are warning the public not to consume the ground beef described
below because it may contain pieces of glass.

The fresh Lean Ground Beef Club Pack affected by this alert was sold in store packed
2.5 kg trays bearing Best Before date Feb 12, 09 and UPC 283460 913732 from Real
Canadian Superstore, 2280 Baron Road, Kelowna, BC. The label, however, bears the
name of Westfair Foods, Calgary, Alberta.

There have been no reported injuries associated with the consumption of this product.

Superstore, Kelowna is voluntarily recalling the affected product from the marketplace.

DANGER POUR LA SANTÉ - LE BOEUF HACHÉ VENDU PAR LE MAGASIN SUPERSTORE À KELOWNA PEUT CONTENIR DES MORCEAUX DE VERRE

OTTAWA, le 13 février 2009 - L'Agence canadienne d'inspection des aliments (ACIA) et
Real Canadian Superstore avisent la population de ne pas consommer le boeuf haché
décrit ci-dessous parce qu'il peut contenir des morceaux de verre.

Le boeuf haché maigre frais format « club » visé par cette mise en garde a été vendu
en palettes de 2,5 kg emballées en magasin, portant la date « Meilleur avant » du 12
février 2009 et le CUP 283460 913732. Le produit a été vendu dans le magasin Real
Canadian Superstore situé au 2280, chemin Baron, à Kelowna (Colombie-Britannique).
L'étiquette porte le nom de Westfair Foods, Calgary (Alberta).

Aucune blessure associée à la consommation de ce produit n'a été signalée.

Le magasin Superstore à Kelowna retire volontairement du marché le produit visé.
